We collaborate with around 3,5000 local beet growers. On average, their fields are within a range of 50 km of the factory.

On average, around 35,000 to 45,000 hectares of beets are planted. One hectare is enough for about 12 to 15 tonnes of sugar.

A sugar beet is about 17% made up of water. 75% of that water can be reused in the production process.

Raffinerie Tirlemontoise has 6 locations in Belgium and the Netherlands. We not only make pure sugar, but also fondant and sugar syrups.
