Our people
The story of Raffinerie Tirlemontoise is one of rich traditions and successful innovations, a story of passion, major achievements, entrepreneurship, self-reflection, commitment and team spirit. In short: a story of people. It isn’t a fairy tale, but a unique and powerful reality in which manual workers, employees and management strive towards the same goal: together we are stronger through sugar!
Breeding-ground for talent
Raffinerie Tirlemontoise is active in Flanders and Wallonia and employs 580 talented people: 320 manual workers and 260 employees. 580 talented individuals each with their own character and a passion for sugar! We are also constantly on the lookout for new talent, talent that will be given the opportunity to grow in an international context, with a financially sound Belgian brand, talent that will be given the freedom to make the difference between quality and high quality in a socially responsible manner, within a dynamic and rapidly expanding sector.

Ozgur Nihat, Line Hard Sugar in Tirlemont
There is a good atmosphere here. Relationships between team leaders and colleagues – young and old – no, I have no complaints about that. Working in a large company has a lot of advantages. There is the job security and our products and machines are invested in, but even more importantly the people are invested in too. So we are given training on such things as safety, discipline and cleanliness. The career development opportunities are extremely attractive as well. In short, I am proud to work here.
